Building History
Built in 1940 by Anton and Anna Luzar, the Maver Building transferred to Frank and Bertha Maver on September 28, 1943. Throughout much of its early history (1940 to at least 1963). 501 E. 185th Street had a neighborhood tavern and 505 E. 185th Street had the Euclid Window Shade Co. The tavern changed names multiple times, from Country Tavern to Gather Inn Tavern and Shoreview Tavern.
More recently, the Maver Building was home to Lamarca’s Barbershop and Nuclear Printing. ECIC acquired the building in 2026 to continue the stabilization and positive momentum along the E. 185th Street Corridor. The building currently serves as the base of operations for ECIC and the Euclid Development Corporation (EDCOR), two nonprofits dedicated to strengthening and growing Euclid.
